Hub Features
We are using a customized version of the latest Docusaurus, one of the most popular open-source documentation systems.
⚠️ Note: we also use other Documentation systems if needed, we've worked with Confluence, Gitbook, Gatsby and others. Our research shows for popularity: Docusaurus has the most traffic, while Docusaurus and Gitbook have similar number of installs. Gitbook has an extra monthly fee for premium, Docusaurus only requires basic hosting (less cost).
We found Docusaurus provides the combination of ease-of-use, frequent updates, plugin/theme system, low-price and out-of-box functionality that is superior compared to many other solutions.

2. Can you make it look like our design?
Yes! Absolutely.
We will implement your onboarding hub with your theme, colors, design. Best of all, this is a modular styling system so if there are any changes, they can be made easily.
3. I'm ready! How do I start
It's very easy to get started.

- Choose the package you want.
- Click on the package and then below the packages the pink button "I want this!".
- You pay 50% by credit card on Gumroad, through our Stripe account for your convenience. If you need another payment method, contact us and ask!
- When your order goes through you can enter the content/deliverables area on Gumroad, and you will see some basic questions to answer so we can get started with your project. You will be given additional contact info.
- Also, we will follow-up email you within 24-48 hours to touch base and ask questions about your project.
- We will create a schedule of deliverables that are on a mutually agreed timeline, and figure out any deliverables needed from you if not publicly available. (if public, usually you do not need to do much, we take care of it)
- Small projects take 7-10 days after the schedule is agreed, bigger projects may take longer. We will advise. There will be timeline checkpoints to make sure all is on track to your satisfaction.
- When we get to the end of the project, you will pay the remaining 50%.
- Thereafter, there will be hosting and ongoing support, depending on the package. There are add-ons at reasonable price for more articles, tutorials and additional support if needed beyond the package.
4. What are some types of pages I should expect?
It depends on your app but these are some of the types of pages that are often included:

5. How does hosting work?
Hosting is included, length/size depending on the your plan.
We typically use Vercel, Digital Ocean or AWS cloud for cloud hosting.
Basic documentation Hub hosting for normal traffic & scalability for the size of your project is included. This is not intended for hosting very large, streaming or expensive file downloads, you will need to inquire about extras if you need that, but we can include at additional reasonable cost and/or embed from other sources (eg. videos from YouTube etc.)
If you expect high levels of traffic (15,000+ Hub users per day) then let us know and we will accommodate you and work something out, there may be some slight extra charge for extremely high volume or if you want to include large file hosting.
You get access to the server and repo/account details.
6. Will I get support and knowledge transfer?
Yes! All our packages include at least some support, maintenance and knowledge transfer -- how much depends on the package. (see above in the packages section of this FAQ)
7. Can I use another software rather than Docusaurus?
Yes!
We usually use Docusaurus because it's Open Source, low-cost, flexible for themes/content and very fast,
However, there are other options available.
Docusaurus is optimized for documentation websites with React, providing a modern interface and robust features. It is flexible, easily-managed, portable and can be self-hosted at a low price.
We've also use the following:
- Gitbook: Provides a sleek, user-friendly interface with built-in collaboration tools. Limited customization compared to static site generators like Docusaurus, Next.js or Gatsby. Premium hosting costs can add up 3x-4x more than Docusaurus or Next.js.
- Next.js: Highly customizable and optimized for performance, ideal for dynamic documentation. Requires more development effort and expertise to set up and maintain, which may take longer than a tool like Docusaurus.
- Confluence (Atlassian): Integrates well with Atlassian tools, offering structured documentation and collaboration. Can be costly for larger teams and less flexible for public-facing docs. Better for medium-large enterprise.
- Gatsby: Fast static site generation with excellent plugin support for customizable documentation. Setup can be complex in some cases and does not have all the theming at doc tools available with Docusaurus.
- Git Pages: Free hosting integrated with GitHub repositories, great for open-source projects. Limited customization and less suited for feature-rich documentation.
